In Caring for Our Tomorrow, we continuously strive to improve our manufacturing process and our systems in order meet the toughest standards in sustainable forest management. Our philosophy consists of four key pillars: Conservation,Accountability, Recycle and the Environment. Our ongoing support and dedication can be seen in our Naturally Green Program which encompasses our comprehensive environmental activities and reinforces our four pillars.

Our two main programs ensure that we continually set goals to reduce to a minimum the impact of manufacturing activities on the environment
through action plans and programs that are technically and
economically sound.
IMPACT ZERO®
•Vintage is certified ISO 14001 which ensures manufacturing is in compliance with provincial and federal laws in order to minimize
harmful effects of manufacturing on the environment.
•Our certification sets goals and objectives to reduce energy
consumption by focusing on:
Air, Water, Fibre Utilization, Waste Reduction and Management
of Waste Disposal, Noise, Energy Consumption and Greenhouse
Gas Emissions.
FOREVER GREEN®
•This environmental program aims to promote environmental protection, sustainable development and is committed to responsible stewardship of resources.
•Our stains are waterborne and do not contain formaldehyde.
•Stains used on our prefinishing line are disposed of in a safe and well managed system and never reach a landfill.
•Our Sealers and topcoats are 99% VOC free and do not contain any volatile solvents. Once they are catalyzed and cure on our finish line they become completely inert.
•Pigments and dyes used for stains are heavy-metal free.
CONSERVATION IS A KEY INGREDIENT OF OUR PROGRAM
•70% of domestic wood species located in the North Eastern U.S. and Eastern Canada are shipped to us within a 200 mile radius
and 90% within 500 miles. Resulting in less energy and fuel used
for transportation.
•50% of the wood used for our Solid Sawn Collection is recovered
from waste wood that would usually go to a landfill.
•Since Vintage is an FSC certified manufacturer, the timber we use in
manufacturing comes from suppliers who harvest in a responsible
manner. As a team, we are all committed to ensuring that harvesting
is done in a manner that protects our other resources such as
wildlife, water, soil and vegetation.
•If required, Vintage can provide chain of custody documentation
and/or other accredited or non-accredited certification documents.
•Our exotic species imported from South America are all shipped
with compliance documents adhering to government regulations
and programs.
COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH OURRECYCLE PROGRAMS
We believe that every bit helps and as a result, we have introduced many programs which recycle the materials we use into other products.
OUR MAIN INITIATIVES INCLUDE:
•Using 99% of sawdust and wood off cuts and recycling them into particle board, HDF, and other products that are utilized for other industries.
•Recycling all cardboard, paper, plastic, polyurethane strapping and UV lamps.
•Recycling waste water from our prefinishing line so that it never reaches landfill.
SUPPORTING OUR ENVIRONMENT WITH FSC AND LEED CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS
We are proud to support our environment by offering hardwoods that comply with FSC certification and which help qualify to earn LEED credits.
- FSC certification is only awarded to companies who demonstrate strong performance in meeting the standards for environment protection, the recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and social responsibility.
- Both our Maple and Red Oak hardwood flooring are offered with FSC Certified.
- We also offer Solid Exotic hardwoods with FSC certification.
